What a beeeeautiful place to get married. Jesus Henry Christ in a basket, West Tower is such a gorgeous venue for a Lancashire wedding. Hannah and Neil met me for a drink before they booked - I always recommend having a proper conversation with a photographer before booking as they're going at your wedding all day and it's super important that there's a personality fit in my opinion. Sometimes it's a zoom call, sometimes its too many beers.
Almost every couple I talk to (apart from a few that really get into it) say they don't want posey photos and just want natural stuff and I TOTALLY get it. The thought of a portrait session can be really intimidating to a lot of people and seriously the reason my portraits all look so natural and genuine is because they are - but it doesn't mean they aren't posed! I have great chemistry with my couples and get them interacting with each other, laughing and having a good time and I give subtle direction that makes it feel natural while still looking incredible. But this only works if there is a good personality fit which is why I always want to chat before you book - just to make sure it's going to be awesome for all of us!
So to keep a long story long - we had too many drinks and they booked while we were sat outside a bar, 5 beers deep. I brought Will along to this wedding (my sexy second shooter) and fair to say the photos turned out great, some of these shots are his but don't ask which ones - even I can't tell.
