Soooo it was a bizarre turn of events that led to me photographing Megan and Brad's wedding at Hillbark Hotel in Wirral.

A photo/video friend of mine, Michael Patrick was locked in to shoot their wedding video and got in touch with me to see if I could jump in to solve a problem - their so called "photographer" had taken their booking fee and done a runner. With a couple of weeks to go before the wedding - Meg and Brad were trying to contact them only to get crickets in return. How anyone can sleep at night when doing this to people is beyond me - but some people are just bad eggs and I guess you don't know one until you cross one.

I was available to jump in and at this point didn't know the name of the couple or anything - got the details from Michael and the day before the wedding I popped them into my phone. Tap tap tap goes the groom's phone number and who's name should pop up as a contact already there? Our Bradders. He'd been one of my best mates all the way through school, my late teens and my early 20's. I even got him a job when we worked in retail we and worked endless nightshifts together causing havoc and breaking every health and safety rule in the book - a true legend. Such a lovely guy who's skateboarding skills will blow the minds of everyone to cast their beady eyes upon them. But who is he marrying I hear you ask?

Meg! Meg is the daughter of another previous colleague of mine and the whole thing seems to swirl in a big old magic circle of loveliness. After not seeing or speaking to Brad for about 8 years - I messaged him to tell him I'll be attending his wedding uninvited and with minds blown all around I was able to share such a special day with such a special couple and the world feels complete. I'm just trying to make this as mushy as possible - is it working?

We did a couple of family/group photo sessions throughout the day - which normally would just be one quick-fire sesh - but the sun in front of Hillbark Hotel was giving such golden backlighting that I couldn't let the chance get away so we took full advantage and...hold on to your pants... we only bloody ended up with the most epic shot of the whole wedding party with FULL GOD RAYS beaming down on them all. Hell the fuck yeah!
